Hua Hin is a seaside resort city in Thailand, which faces Gulf of Thailand and also known as Royal Beach Resort. Hua Hin is located in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province which is situated at the northern end of the Peninsular Thailand and about 123km to the south of Bangkok. Hua Hin very popular with Thais and became weekend getaway spot for Bangkok residents.

GETTING THERE
1. BY AIR - u can take SGA airline ( now alliance with Nok Air) http://www.sga.co.th/ , which is operate 3 - 4 times daily flight from Suvarnabhumi airport. the flights maybe take around 45 minutes to 1 hour journey.

2. BY CAR / TAXI - From Bangkok, u can take Highway No. 35 (Thonburi Pak Tho route) passing Samut Prakan and Samut Songkhram, then take highway No. 4 (Phetkasem road) to Hua Hin. it can take 2 hours journey. By taxi from Bangkok to Hua Hin also possible but the fare must be negotiate, try to get around 2000Baht range.

3. BY TRAIN - This journey maybe takes about 3 - 4 hours from Bangkok. Train can take at Hua Lamphong station which have 12 time daily trip to Hua Hin. This is the easy way because Hua Hin train station located within the city.

4. BY BUS - U can take bus at Bangkok Southern Terminal. This journey take about 3.5 hours.The price is 110Baht, 85Baht and 61Baht for 1st Class Air-conditioned, 2nd Class Air-conditioned and ordinary bus respectively. From Khao San road, u can take minivan to Hua Hin which cost around 150Baht/person. From downtown Bangkok, u also can take minivan from Victory Monument (Anusawari Chai) area, near the BTS skytrain, which cost around 180Baht/person. The price maybe change depends on current circumstances.

GETTING AROUND

1. MINIBUS - U can use this transport to the beach of Khao Takiap and Suan Son. The minibus terminal situated at the Intersection of Sasong road and Dam noen Kasem road.
2. SONGTHAEW - u can take songthaew at the station at the Intersection of Chomsin road and Phetkasem road.
3. For trip around Hua Hin town, u also can take Tuk-tuk or Samlor (tricycle), which cosst maybe 40Baht/trip.
4. At Hua Hin u also can rent motorcycle or bicycle for around the city. U can rent at Dam noen Kasem road near the Jed Pee Nong hotel.
5. At fishing pier, u also can charter boat to Koh Singto for 800Baht/day.

THING TO DO

1. HUA HIN BEACH - u can enjoy the beautiful 5km long white sandy beach, many seaside resort along the beach and this beach very close to town.
2. KHAO TAKIAB - One of the highest area in Hua Hin, going up here u can see the whole Hua Hin scenery. Here also a good place to see sunset. On the hill top have huge standing buddha and temple.
3. HUA HIN RAILWAY STATION - This is one of the oldest train station in Thailand. its unique, red color and white pavilion formerly served as the Royal Waiting Room.
4. KLAI KANGWON PALACE / SUMMER PALACE - Built in 1926 after King Rama VII was crowned, have 3 spanish-style mansions overlooking the sea, presently, it is the residence of His Majesty The King.
5. SUAN SON BEACH - owned by Thai army but open to public, located to the south of Hua Hin town and also have beautiful beach.
6. KOH SINGTO - This tiny island located about 800m off Suan Son beach and suitable for fishing trip and diving.

SHOPPING

- Souvenirs shops in Hua Hin, mostly on Naret Damri road, Decha Nuchit road, Chomsin road and Damnoen Kasem road.
- In Hua Hin also can buy Khommaphat ( printed cotton & silk fabrics), dried sea food, handicraft and variety of processed fruits.
- The best place for shopping is at night market but Hua Hin have 2 night market. The better known is in the middle Hua Hin town which is more to tourist oriented. Another one is Grand Market (Thai favors) located at parking lot between Grand Hotel and Sao Paulo Hospital.

EAT & DRINK

There are many options to eat and drink around Hua Hin. The beach area and Khao Takiap more to tourist area but if u want good local dishes just try on Phetkasem road along the way to Khao Takiap. At night market and Tesco village mall also have cheap foods.

Finally, Hua Hin is the safe city to visit due the King Palace was here so the security very tight.

Koh Samui located off north-eastern coast of Thailand peninsular which is 84km east off Surat Thani Province and 475km south of Bangkok, Samui also the 2nd most beautiful island in Thailand and 3rd largest island in Thailand after Phuket and Koh Chang. Samui have many beautiful beaches and bays. The best time to visit Samui is from February to April every year due the sea is calm this time.

GETTING THERE

1. BY AIR - Bangkok Airways have frequent flight from Bangkok, Phuket and U-Tapao (at Sattahip, 30km south of Pattaya). Thai Airways also have direct flight from Bangkok. 2. BY BOAT / FERRY - Have various companies operate the boat to connect Samui from mainland.

a) Rajah Ferry - depart from Don Sak pier which is located 70km south of Surat Thani town with 1 hour journey to this pier. Crossing time from this pier around 1.5 hour. Operation hour from 5 am to 7 pm.

b) Songserm (Express Boat) depart from Ta Thong pier with 2.5 hour journey.

c) Seatran Express - Fast connection from Surat Thani (at Ban Don pier), take 2 - 2.5 hour to Samui and u can avoid riding bus 1 hour from Surat Thani to Don Sak pier if u take boat from this pier. 3 times daily (from Surat Thani at 7 am, 12.30 pm & 4.30 pm whilst from Samui at 8 am, 10.30 am & 3 pm).

d) Night Boat - u can take at Ban Don Pier, crossing time around 5 - 5.5 hours. By this boat u can avoid sleeping at Surat Thani if u arrive there at the end of the day. Depart from Ban Don pier at 11 pm.

From Bangkok - the cheapest way is by bus (from Khao San road) http://www.khaosanroad.com/charlieconnection/index.htm) or train (Hualamphong station) to Surat Thani, and take ferry from Donsak / Ta Thong / Ban Don pier. You can buy a joint ticket in Bangkok on Khao San Road.

GETTING AROUND

1. Songthaew - local taxi from pick-up truck, very practical and cheap but don't have timetable. U just stand by the roads and stop the songthaew and ride. Operation hour start from 6 am - 6 pm, after 6 pm also can but the price maybe higher and need to negotiate.

2. Meter Taxi - more expensive than songthaew, must negotiate price before getting on.

3. In Samui u also can rent the vehicles like car, motorcycle and bycycle. The rent shop have everywhere in Samui especially in Chaweng area.

KANCHANABURI TRAVEL GUIDE

Kanchanaburi is capital for kanchanaburi province and located 130km to the west of Bangkok or just 2 hour drive away.This province boasts some of the country's most beautiful waterfalls and caves in its national parks, as well as the historis bridge over River Kwai and exciting activities like rafting trips. This is the place if u want to explore the Thai countryside without travelling too far from Bangkok.

GETTING THERE

1. BY BUS - Use Bus line 81 (BKS public bus), which depart from Southern Bus Terminal at Phutthamonthon Soi 1 in northern Thonburi. In Kanchanaburi have two seperated bus station, with 1st class buses departing from an office off Thanon Saengchuto, and 2nd class buses from the larger terminal one block east. The bus leave bangkok around 15 - 30 minutes and will take around 2 hours journey. U also can get minibus from Khao San Road. The buses also depart from Bangkok Bus Terminal on Kamphaeng Phet II Road to Kanchanaburi.

2. BY CAR - Kanchanaburi about 2 - 3 drive hour, follow Highway 4 heading west of Bangkok, then shortly after Nakhon Pathom take right to Highway 323 which heading to Kanchanaburi.

3. BY TRAIN - Train leave from Hua Lamphong Station (Southern Lines) daily on 3 hour journey to Kanchanaburi. The other way u also can get train at Thonburi Train Station (depart 7.45 am and 13.45pm). If u from Khao San area just take passengger boat at Banglamphu pier and connect to a cross river pier that reaches the railway pier and from there just walk or take minibus to Thonburi Train Station. You may be can buying a ticket all the way to the River Kwai Bridge, since these two trains are the only ones which cross the bridge each day. The fare is 100 baht.

GETTING AROUND

U can take Songthaews (small orange and large yellow (converted pickups)) to cruise up and down Saengchuto, connecting bus station, train station and the bridge, and charge a standard 5 baht. Motorbike taxis and tuk-tuks are also available, with negotiable prices, and some guesthouses offer bicycle rental.

1. Bridge over The River Kwai - situated just to north of the town, this bridge was made famous by the 1957 film "Bridge over the River Kwai". This bridge also known as "Death Railway" and constructed during world war II which connected Thailand and Myanmar (Burma).

2. JEATH War Museum - it refer to Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland which involved in building the railway. This museum located to the south of town centre next to Wat Chaichumphon. Open from 8.30 am to 6 pm.

3. World War II Museum - This museum located just south of the bridge, it contains war memorabilia in the form of bomb shell, photos etc.

4. Kanchanaburi War Cemetery - 7000 Allied prisoners are buried here.

5. Ban Kao National Museum - located 8km from Prasat Mueang Sing and 35km from kanchanaburi town. this museum constructed beside a Neolithic burial site discovered by allied prisoner during construction of Death Railway.

6. Erawan National Park - located 65km or 1.5 hour drive to northwest of Kanchanaburi town. This national park also most visited natinal park in Thailand. Erawan watefall here is one of the most baeutiful waterfall in Thailand. U can go here with Public Buses (no. 8170) but must take early bus. Foreigner may be pay for 400baht for entrance.

7. Bo Phloi - Located 40km to the north of Kanchanaburi, this village has a Jewellery Handicraft Centre, where blue sapphires mined locally are fashioned into beautiful rings and pendants.

8. Rail journey to the waterfall - one of the best way to see the countryside around town is to take 2 hours journey by train from Kanchanaburi to waterfall which operates 3 times a day. The train stops regularly at attractive village station so can view the beautiful scenery.

9. Mon Bridge - also known as "Uttamanuson Bridge", this bridge linking Sangkhla Buri and Mon villages, 850 metre long wooden bridge across Songkaria river is a famous viewpoint overlooking the merging point of the three river (Songkaria, Bikhli and Ranti).

10. Tiger Temple - located in Saiyok District of Kanchanaburi Province. u can Do a tour to the Tiger Temple, where you can pat tigers and play with monkeys at an animal rehabilitation centre run by a group of Buddhist monks.

Koh Chang, the largest island of Trat province (East of Thailand) and second largest island, after Phuket in Thailand. This island very rich in natural resources, teeming with hills, forests, waterfalls and streams, the latter being an important source of freshwater. The best months to visit this beautiful island is between december to march every year whilst the monsoon season between july to october, during this time, the sea is rough and not reccommended for swiming. Mosts of smaller resort will be close due the lack of visitors / customers.

GETTING THERE

1. BY PLANE - u can take flight from Bangkok to Trat airport, from the airport u can take many minivan to the ferry pier (at Laem Ngop).

BY BUS - From Bangkok, u can take bus from Ekkamai (Bangkok Eastern Bus Terminal) to Trat (overnight or daytime), duration for this trip around 5 hours and costly around 230Baht/way, from Trat bus station u can transfer by a roofed pick-up truck (Songthaew) to Ban Laem Ngop, where regular ferry services will take you to the island.

3. BY MINIBUS - u also can take minibus from bangkok or from Trat town to ferry pier. If From Bangkok especially Khao San Road, u can book from travel agent, which cost around 600Baht/person,,maximum person for 1 minibus around 6 person..(u must ask travel agent, price for included ferry fare)

PERHENTIAN ISLAND TRAVEL GUIDE

Pulau Perhentian (Perhentian Island) located to the north-eastern off coast of Terengganu which is comprises two islands - Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian) and Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian). Perhentian Kecil attracts many visitor especially backpackers because it has many cheaper accommodation while Perhentian Besar more expensive and caters more to families.

From November to February not suitable time to visit this island due the monsoon season because the sea is rough, during this monsoon season many hotel and chalet are temporary closed their operation until early March.

GETTING THERE

1. BY FLIGHT - u can take flight either Malaysia Airlines (http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/) or Airasia (http://www.airasia.com/) from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Bahru, because this is the closest airport to Kuala Besut Jetty (Main Jetty to Perhentian Island). From Kota Bahru airport u can take taxi to Kuala Besut Jetty. Airport taxi to Kuala Besut jetty at RM76/car/way. By mini van at RM30/person/way and by Limo at RM180/car/way. From Thai Borders, u can take taxi direct to Kuala Besut jetty with fare RM60/car. U also can landed at Kuala Terengganu airport and then take taxi to Kuala Besut jetty about RM90/taxi/way.

2. BY BOAT - From Kuala Besut Jetty u have 2 options either take speed boat or slow boat. Fast boat from Kuala Besut to Perhentian Island usually start from 9.00a.m to 5.00p.m. Actually on Kuala Besut haven't regular time for departure. The boat will depart to the island when enough passenger. Leaving time for the fast boat from Perhentian island at 8.00a.m, 12.00noon and 4.00p.m (fare around RM35 per way and take aroun 30 - 40 minutes). When heading to the island by boat and plan to go to Long beach or Coral beach, u must take small boat (taxi boat) from the main boat to the beach because this area don't have any jetty (must around RM2/person).

3. BY TRAIN - u can take train (http://www.ktmb.com.my/) at KL Sentral Station or Singapore for east-coast line at stop either at Tanah Merah station or Wakaf Baru station. Here easily u can get taxi to Kuala Besut Jetty. Taxi cost around RM50 - RM60/way.

4. BY BUS - U can take Bus Express from either K.L (Hentian Putra) or Penang (Butterworth / Sungai Dua Station) or other places and stop at Jerteh bus stand, from there u can take taxi ( RM20.00/car-early morning @ night, RM10.00/car day time) or bus (RM1.50/person) ride to Kuala Besut. If u from Kuala Terengganu, u can take Bus to Kuala Besut with fare RM7.50/person which take 3 hours or take taxi from Kuala Terengganu which take 1 1/2 hours. From Kota Bharu Bus stand ( north ), you can take bus straight to Kuala Besut. Only RM5.10/person. From Singapore you can take bus (Transnasional) direct to Jerteh and get taxi to Kuala Besut jetty.

1. Snorkeling - Here snorkeling is very cheap about RM40/person, this includes the snorkel, mask, fins and life jacket. The 5 spots will include Shark Point, Coral Garden and Turtle Bay. The whole trip usually takes about 5 hours, which starts at 10.30 am.

2. Tokong Laut (Temple of the Sea) - located in the northwest sea off Perhentian Island.

Come and discover one of the Thailand's Best Kept Secrets : KOH PHANGAN. Koh Phangan is an island off eastern Gulf coast of Thailand, it located between Ko Samui and Ko Tao. GETTING THERE

1. By Plane - The closest airport at Koh Samui which has frequent flight from Bangkok, Phuket and Penang (http://www.firefly.com/), daily flight from U-tapao (at Sattahip, 30km south of Pattaya) and Singapore, several flights a week from Chiang Mai and Kuala Lumpur (http://www.berjaya-air.com/). 2. By Boat - From Samui - There are approximately 10 daily transfers to Koh Phangan. The trip takes approximately 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the weather conditions. Boats leave from Thong Sala Pier and Haad Rin on Koh Phangan to Koh Samui Pier including Na Thon Pier, Mae Nam and the Big Buddha. Ferry from Big Buddha pier (around 15 minutes from Samui airport) to Haad Rin Pier. 1. Motocycle - the best way to around the island by rent a motocycle, many places around the island provide that service but carefully because the road here very dangerous because so narrow and unpaved. The rental between 150 - 200 Baht per day.

2. Songthaew - pick up truck taxis operate on the island with fare 100 Baht.

1. Full Moon Party is on Haad Rin beach, very crowded beach on the island, many party lover around the world came here just for this party.

2. Bottle Beach (Haad Khuat)- The beach is quite and good for snorkeling. Bottle beach can only be reached by boat.

3. Massage - many places offer this service.

4. Snorkelling - this the best way to see underwater world at this island. many snorkel spot around this island and mostly at northwest area, best spot around Koh Ma or Horse Island.

5. Learn Thai Cooking - u can try this at Same Same restaurant, learn how to cook Green Curry and Tom Yam Khung.

The best area to find cheap and best food is definetely Thong Sala, main town on the island. Halal food hard to find here, next to 7 leven Thong Sala have 1 lady sell the pulut ayam. If u crazy about somtum maybe somtum inter the right place but only somtum, halal and other maybe not.

HAT YAI TRAVEL GUIDES

Hat Yai also known as Had Yai is located within Songkhla Province. Hat Yai also close to Malaysian border, about 1 & 1/2 hour (50 kilometres) from Dannok town. Hat Yai also is the region's communication hub and is well served by road, rail and air access. Hat Yai is an ideal stopover if u coming from Malaysia or Central part of Thailand. Hat Yai boasts a large number of hotels and visitors every year. Many of these visitors came from Malaysia. Each weekend the town fills up with weekenders who spend much of their time in the city's many markets and restaurants.

Getting There :

1. Flights

2. Train

To/From Kuala Lumpur - Thailand International Express leaves Hat Yai for Butterworth daily at 05:50 going via Padang Besar. In the other direction, trains leave Butterworth at 13:15 and arrive in Hat Yai at 17:30. The train then continues to Bangkok. The Senandung Langkawi operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu http://www.ktmb.com.my depart from Hat Yai to Kuala Lumpur daily at 14:50, arriving at KL Sentral at 07:36 the next day. Trains from Kuala Lumpur depart at 20:45 and arrive in Hat Yai at 10:20 the next day. The Senandung Langkawi goes via Butterworth and Besar.

Hat Yai has a large bus station located near the Diana Department store. Buses can be taken to all major towns in the south of Thailand and up to Bangkok. Depending on the route, different classes of bus are available. if u from/to Kuala Lumpur, u can buy ticket with Konsortium Bas Ekspress Semenanjung at Hat Yai (32, Prachatipat Road) / Hentian Puduraya in Kuala Lumpur.

Get Around:

Use Songthaews (like pick-up truck), Tuk-tuks and motorcycle taxis are easy to flag down but fares must be negotiated first otherwise you run the risk of being overcharged. Most journeys around town around 20 baht.

Shopping - Hat Yai is a shopper's dream.This is the best place to shopping in Songkhla province. Main shopping mall including Lee Garden Plaza, Odean Shopping Mall, Robinson Department Store, Diana Shopping Mall, Central Department Store,Tesco-Lotus and Carrefour. In Hat Yai also have 2 main market such as Kim Yong market and Sunthisuk market.

Eating - Hat Yai offers a lot of different food options for the visitor. Typical thai streets food is everywhere. The best place for eating is opposite Lee Garden Plaza. For muslim visitor especially from Malaysia, find the halal food is not the problem here. The reccomended place for halal food is along Prasaneha Road which opposite Pink Lady Hotel.

HAI PENG - THE BEST KOPITIAM

When u visit chukai, LOCATED WITHIN KEMAMAN DISTRICT AND STATE OF TERENGGANU, u must drop by at the famous HAI PENG kOPITIAM. This kopitiam is a hot spot among the locals. The place is always crowded from the moment it open business for the day until they close in the evening. HAI PENG KOPITIAM served local foods like nasi dagang, nasi lemak, keropok besides their signature bread toast and special brewed coffee. LEMBAH BUJANG ARCHAEOLOGY MUSEUM

Lembah Bujang Archaeological Museum (Muzium Arkeologi) which is located beside the great Bujang River , located about two kilometers north of Merbok town. The museum gallery are displays pottery shards, ceramics and stoneware dating to almost two thousand years. Other interesting items shown here include Chinese porcelain, gemstones, Indian tridents and beautiful stone carvings. The partially restored candi (temples) can be seen at the rear section of the museum. Two remarkable sites of six hundred years old chandis were found in 1997 with the one thousand years old Candi Bukit Batu Pahat.
